Confronting Racism Within: History, Systems, Community and Self is a conference with inspirational speakers and powerful workshops that will help participants examine racism within themselves, their families and their communities, and provide hope and opportunites to break the cycle of racism going forward.
The conference is presented by Women Confronting Racism, in partnership with the National Council of Jewish Women, Michigan; the Sisters of Mercy—West Midwest Community; and Fems for Change.
Our highlighted speakers are:
- Dr. Peter Hammer, a professor at Wayne State University Law School and Director of the Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights.
- Rev. Dr. Dee Dee Coleman, president of Council of Baptist Pastors of Detroit and pastor at Russell Street Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit.

Admission is $25 per person, $15 for students. Scholarships are available, please contact event organizer for info. Please note Eventbrite charges a service and handling fee per ticket ranging from $2.89-$4.03.
Coffee, tea and water will be provided.
You can bring your own lunch, or purchase a box lunch on site for an additional $10.50. Box lunch includes: your choice of chicken pesto or vegetarian wrap, chips, fruit, cookie and water.
