Confronting Racism Within: The Intersectionality of Culture, Race and Gender

  • St. John's Episcopal Church 26998 Woodward Ave. Royal Oak, MI 48067 United States (map)

Freda Sampson examines how the social attributes of race, culture and gender do not exist as single stand-alone issues. The political and personal realities and the construct of individuality are much more complex regarding privilege and oppression. We will deconstruct the complicated messages of identity to explore the nuances and impact of gender in the context of blackness and whiteness.

The session is free, although donations will be accepted at the door. All welcome! No need to RSVP.
