The 9/11 Anniversary Town Hall - Executive Orders: Japanese Internment & the Muslim Ban

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Executive Order 9066 signed by President Roosevelt that was responsibile for Japanese internment camps during WWII. 

The town hall will feature leaders from the Japanese, Arab and Muslim American communities. Panelists will discuss the impacts of discriminatory executive orders on their communities. 

Please join us after the discussion for a Global Fridays performance by The Grateful Crane Ensemble. The play will go back to the high school dance days of young Japanese Americans held behind barbed wire fences in internment camps during WWII. Tickets are just $10 for AANM Members and $15 for general public, and are available here: bit.ly/GFfall17 

In partnership with the Japanese American Citizens League, the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding, ACLU, CAIR, MuslimARC, ACCESS' Campaign to TAKE ON HATE, the Wayne State Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights and its Detroit Equity Action Lab, and Bank Suey.

Admission is FREE w/ RSVP. Light refreshments provided.
