Make Plans to Attend the Women’s March
The Women's March is returning to Washington, DC on January 19, 2019!
Many in our Fems for Change community are interested in attending, so we have set up some travel, accommodation and dining options to help with your planning:
Round Trip Bus Travel from Troy, MI to Washington, DC (leaving January 18, returning January 20)
Double-occupancy rooms in a hotel block
Dinner reservations at area restaurants
All these items are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and you can pick and choose to participate in only the options that work for you. For more information and to register, visit ffcwomensmarch2019.eventbrite.com
AND Please read the letter from Fems for Change FOUNDER, LORI GOLDMAN, on WHY we support this march, in spite of some negative comments reported in the media:
Dear Fems for Change Supporters:
Fems for Change (FFC) is aware of the media coverage surrounding Women’s March, Inc, the organizer of this year’s Women’s March in Washington DC. FFC is not formally associated with the organizers. We participate in the march as a grassroots organization, meeting up with other grassroots organizations.
The march in Washington is one of hundreds taking place across the globe on January 19, and as such, we view it as part of a much larger global movement, that transcends any one person or group.
Many members of the FFC community attended the first Women’s March in 2017, where we not only had fun, met many other like minded individuals, but left feeling re-energized and ready to continue our work anew. We have been eagerly awaiting a follow-up event. We want to attend the 2019 march to celebrate recent women’s political achievements, and to demonstrate support for women’s rights, immigration reform, healthcare reform, reproductive rights, care of the environment, LGBTQ rights, racial equality, tolerance and many other issues we care deeply about.
It will be a great time, and we hope that you will join us!
